Company Info General background: This is the webpage of Stauber Multimedia Design. Stauber Multimedia Design is centered around BlueOnyx, BlueQuartz and Aventurin, but we also still do some SUN/Cobalt and Linux consulting as well as the development and installation of security related software for Linux machines. Our customers are mainly Internet Service Providers in Europe and the US, but we also have customers from Asia and Australia. Since the second half of 2001 we installed software on over several thousand different servers worldwide and we're constantly improving the services we offer. In 2006 we started the development of Aventurine - The Linux Virtualization Appliance, which was released in December 2006. Aventurin allows to run multiple Linux based virtual servers on the same hardware, including CentOS, CentOS 4 + BlueQuartz, CentOS 5 + BlueOnyx, Debian, SuSE, Ubuntu and Fedora. It is also supports clustering for high redundancy server hosting. We are also lead developers of BlueOnyx, the replacement of BlueQuartz. Our company is located in Germany and we operate servers located in the United States and in Germany and have clients from all around the globe. All of our operators speak and write English and German fluently. Technical background: Founder and CEO Michael Stauber graduated from Technical State College Weilburg with a degree as electrical engineer (energy- and process-automation) and a degree in computer- and network science. During his time in Technical State College he developed many of the software enhancements for SUN/Cobalt servers now offered through this website. After graduating he worked as contractor for Sun Microsystems GmbH as Strategic Support Engineer and is E10K qualified. His engagement for Sun Microsystems includes a brief stint as onsite engineer for one of the largest German banks, before he quit this daytime job to fully dedicate his time into Solarspeed.net. Solarspeed Limited existed from February 2005 until April 2010 and focussed on the marketing and sales of Server Appliances and related IT components and parts. Since April 2010 this part of the business has been fully taken over by Stauber Multimedia Design.
