MySQL/MariaDB

MySQL/MariaDB is used in millions of installations ranging from large corporations to specialized embedded applications on every continent in the world.

BlueOnyx 5211R and BlueOnyx 5210R use MariaDB. When you purchase this PKG and link it to your BlueOnyx server, then depending on which BlueOnyx type you're linking it to it will either offer you an updated MariaDB for installation.

Before you install: Please backup your databases!

The MariaDB package can be uninstalled through the GUI. During uninstall, it will remove all upgraded and replaced RPM's and will then reinstall (via YUM) the OS related RPMs that it replaced during its initial installation.

Note: Uninstalling this PKG after using it may leave your databases in a format that will no longer be compatible with the "stock" version. Therefore please don't uninstall this package unless you know what you are doing!

This package is available for the following BlueOnyx versions:

• BlueOnyx 5211R - installs MariaDB (10.11)
• BlueOnyx 5210R - installs MariaDB (10.11)
• BlueOnyx 5209R - installs MariaDB (10.2, 10.3. 10.4. 10.5 and 10.6 are available) (EOL of BlueOnyx 5209R: June 30th 2024!)

Supported PHP versions:

MariaDB versions need supported PHP versions in order for PHP being able to access the database server. The MariaDB package itself comes with libraries that make it compatible to the "stock" PHP. All recent PHP packages from the shop have provisions to make them compatible with either the "stock" MariaDB or the one provided by this package.
